TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) is also sometimes referred to as EFL (English as a Foreign Language). TEFL involves teaching people, usually in their own countries, who want to use English for business, leisure, travel, etc. TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is much more widely used than TEFL.
